My dash lights do not turn on when the headlight switch knob is pulled out. I checked the fuse it is ok. As a matter of fact I checked all the fuses, all or ok.

Dome light works but does not dim / brighten when the headlight knob is rotated.

I have read that the tailights and the dashlights are on the same circuit, I have no tailight problems.

All of the idiot lights appear to be in working order also as is the glove box light.

Any suggestions on what may be the culprit here?

Ground Circuit for Instrument Lights or possible problem with Light Switch?
The Idiot Lights would not use the panels Ground Circuit.

Would a good test of a bad ground be to run a known good ground to one of the black instrument light wires and see if the lights come on?

Is there power to the dash light fuse with the headlights on?
On the dome light, pull out the switch, there is a resistor, with a contact on the end of it. Test the resistor, and contact as u rotate the knob.
Wiring is a problem esp. if mods have been made.
