Hi Chevy fans, I'm new to the website and needed some help with wireing an HEI to the factory wireing and hooking up the tach? I would like to know some wireing colors for the wireing to make this work. Any takers??

Welcome to the site. Just down the road from you. I don't have the answer to your question, but if you don't have any takers soon try the electrical section or maybe a mod will move it for you. Also, you could try the search function. Lots of great stuff there. Enjoy.

If the '71 is like a '69 you should have a red and black to the coil with red going to the positive (+) You'll have to splice the correct ends to fit the coil in cap plug in connections and don't forget to remove the resister or bypass the resistor wire. I believe on the coil it will say "Tach" on the neg (-) connection... It's been a while and I'm working from memory...
