I searched for any discussion on trunk pan fitting, but nothing pertaining to this. I just fitted my new full trunk pan in my 67 Camaro and it fits like crap. For one, the rear flange is too short. Second, the front flange is going to need some tweaking to make it align right too. Third, the tank strap brackets are 1/4" short of attaching to the rear inner tail light pan. Has anyone else had any problems with this piece not fitting right? Any suggestions?

I have run into many "fit" issues with repro parts, Trunk included. On my trunk kit it is the trunk drop offs and extensions that are the issue. The extensions were cut wrong and the drop offs seem to be bowed where they should be flat. So I have to cut the panel flaten it out and weld it back together. hopefully that will fix the issue.
I also have issue with the inner and out wheel wells not fitting together correctly as the curve is way off on one or the other. I ordered show quality panels from Ricks first gen. to fix that issue and they fit perfectly now.
Many people state all panels would need tweaking to make fit .I dont mind tweaking, I just have an issue when I need to hammer a new part!
Just my 2 cents worth.. Good luck..

I know this is old post.
My tank strap brackets are not short but the flange in rear is out of square by 1/4".

Now I'm nervous. just got a full one pc trunk panel based on what the members say here. This is the first I'm hearing of an issues. Most peiople say they were a breeze to install. i also have a 67.

I put a partial trunk pan and shock towers in my 67 last year. The fit wasn't great but with some patience I was able to get it right where I wanted it. I think I had it in and out of the trunk 50 times over a week long period before I was happy with the fit. The shock towers were easier, but they also needed some persuasion with a rubber mallet.
