ok bear with me its been along couple days for me.Iam in the process of putting a 94 z28 into a 67 chevelle and mean everything if it was wired in its in the chevelle minus the sir stuff everything else there and connected. The problem lies we went to start it last night for the first time and turned the key and puff the magic smoke was released from a printed circut board wired into the vats. possibly a key decoder orsomethong it has a red connector on it any way i went into the harness and found the starter relay not the theft enable but the actual starter relay and jumped the terminals on the purple and yellow wire so it cranks.it cranks it starts and runs for 5sec or so and dies. i know there is a wire from the pcm to the vtd and i know its a fuel enable circut. i dontknow if it is supposed to be grounded by the vtd(vehcile theft deterrent module) or if its supposed to supply a reference voltage say 5 volts to the pcm.iknow the wire is blue and is on the red connector and is in pin 25 or 26 i do believe and it should run to the module

The yellow wire at the starter relay needs to be grounded for the starter to work.
The blue wire going to pin 25 needs to be grounded, but my info shows a square wave signal. The ecm is putting out the 5 volts, not the theft deterent module. The module is the ground, with the engine running, the blue wire should have approx 2.5 volts on it. This is a 40-60 hz signal, it is pulse with modulated to ground.
If you know the old key resistance you can wire in a resistor to relicate the key. If no key is avalable, check with dealer, with vIN of doner car, they may be able to tell the key resistance (I doubt it).
If all this fails, you will need a new anti theft module. Key will not be needed, just substitute an appropriate resistor for the key.
