Hi again. Just a quick question on my 68, I crawled underneath last night and looked at where the floor pan meets the rockers and it is RUSTY! If I replace the inner rockers (and outers) will it give me a fresh surface to weld the floor pan to? Thanks.

This might help you out, I hope. This is on a 1969 chevelle, but I assume the Camaro floor pans are sandwiched in like this also, if not someone can help out.

This is just replacing the floor and using original rockers.

On page #8 it shows you how a chevelle is put together.

Keith - Do a search of these forums and you will find lots of threads like this one. http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=104660&highlight=floor+pan+replace

There is lots of information here you just need to take time to find it. Good luck.

I read for 2 hours last night looking for this answer but I couldn't exactly find a yes or no. Could someone give me one?

To clarify: If I remove the inner and outer rocker panels, will there be nothing left (no structure) at the bottoms of the doors? Or are there any more pieces in there?

If its a coupe, no nothing will be left. If you brace it prior to taking anything apart you'll have no problems. And then once you have both rockers replaced and you also want to do your floor, the pan should slide right in pretty slick. Mine went flawlessly and it was the first time I'd ever done body work.

Thank you very much, that's all I wanted to know. I got kind of disappointed when I saw all that rust.
