View Full Version : Purple starter wire...where does it mount?

I got a new engine wiring harness from Rick's. The purple (and yellow which I don't need) wire has a metal eye terminal wrapped into the wiring harness that obviously mounts to the engine block somewhere. Probably to hold the wire away from the exhaust manifold.

Can any one tell me the correct place to fasten this "eye" terminal to?

Thanks!!

It will only reach one. That is the one you put it in. Bugger to get that bolt out. Just did it myself..

Huh....I always thought it went to the lower heater box bolt closest to the block.

Hmmm...
The only problem with that is the eye terminal looks too big for a heater box bolt...

The harness fastens to the heater box with a removable clip (available repro)

The eye that is taped into the harness goes to a bellhousing bolt.

Yup! That's what the AIM shows.

yeah, good luck getting on there...
It's a waste as far as I'm concerned.
