I know that the Camaros shared a lot with the Nova, Apollo, And Omega, but do they share the same floor pans(full floor pan and more importantly under the rear seat area? I found a great deal on a 68 Nova that has been cut in half(for what reason I'll probably never know:confused: :noway: ) That still has the area under the rear seat in great condition and also the trunk and rear subframe are unbelieveably in great condition. I won't be using the trunk pan, but will use the frame rails if they will fit. Any help? As always. Thanks, Jason

Its primarily the subframe thats the same. From the firewall back, theyre totally different. Im sure you could probably make the rails work somehow, but as far as em being a direct bolt-in, no.

They are not totally different if you are thinking of patch panels. The Nova has a 3/4" longer wheel base found in the rear seat area that the Camaro doesn't have. The chassis and floor pans also changed greatly by years (1968-'72, 1973-'74, 1975-'79) to comply with safety features that the first generation Camaro missed out on (such 5 mph bumpers, etc).

Sorry for the delay in response. Been covered up at work. Anyways, how dificult will it be to "make" them(the floor pans) work or would it be better to just order some? Also I noticed that there may be fitment issues with the fframe rails. What problems are going to arise? I am planning on mini-tubbing my camaro so will this make fitment a little easier? Thanks, Jason

I think you're better off letting the Nova guys know of this car, and buying Camaro parts.

Just out of curiosity. If you need frame rails and are going to tub it. Why not consider back having the car and go with a four link set up. Not exactly stock, and many will scream, but tubing implies need for room for big tires which implies a desire to race. There are a number of chassis builders that sell mail order kits to make this a week end operation. The eight, ten, or twelve point roll cages they sell can be welded right onto the frame rails and connectors for the correct look if your going for a poser and they are SFI certified if you want to run it.
Just a thought.
