I need a little help. I own a 1994 Z28 with the LT1 motor. My oil pressure fluctuates on the gauge. It reads between 40 & 45 psi while driving, but at idle it reads just under 20 psi. Is this normal for this motor? I had it at the shop to replace the water pump and some bad sensors and the mechanic listed the oil pressure as operating "normally". What should my oil pressure read at idle and while driving? Should I have someone else look at the car? I'd appreciate any help!

sounds normal, i think the rule is 10 psi per 1000 rpm. just make sure the level is right and your using a good grade oil and NOT a fram oil filter.

Hey blainedoe, what is wrong with Fram oil filters? Do they impede the oil flow?
