My car has been converted over to electronic ignition. Right now, I have a power wire going to the HEI coil that goes through the firewall and connects to the IGN terminal on the fuse box inside the car. I want to remove that wire for a more stock look and replace my current harness with one specifically designed for an HEI equipped car.

When I replace the harness, is there any modifications that will need to be done to the junction box on the interior side of the car???

So the "new" power wire to the coil is in the same terminal as the "old" power wire to the coil was?

I'd reuse the original position on the firewall connector. I'd get new brass PED terminal, splice a good piece of stranded copper wire to it and replace the socket where the resistance wire was with the new wire. A 1" brad nail or smaller will work well to release the tang on the old terminal so it will slide right out the back of the firewall connector.

I thought of that. I'm mainly replacing the harness to get the benefit of a new wire (purple) for the starter. I figure as long as I'm replacing the harness, I might as well get the one specifically made for HEI.
