I havea 68 camaro w/GM's ZZ383 (430hp) engine and a 5spd. tranny. I've recently noticed engine running for a few seconds after turned off and this occured after swapping from auto tranny to TKO 600. At this time I raised my idle to approx. 825rpm. Someone suggested my run-on condition could be due to idle settings &/or excessive rpm. Does 825rpm sound too high? SUggestions? This is a street car not all-out drag race type car.
Thank you!!!

Bill you could have kept this in the other thread it's all related and the guys might start thinking you didn't like the advice. ;)
My stroker spec's are very close to yours and I idle about 700 rpm and 600 rpm in gear (automatic). Your cam is 222° I, 230° E @ .050” .509” I, .528” E. Mine is 224° I, 224° E @ .050” .525” I, .525” E.
You should be able to idle down to about 700 rpm

My cam is very close to the above and advanced 2 degs...to drop rpm power range for cruising
350 auto, neutral 550 and in gear 500...
I have to run low ilde due to very light dizzy spings that come off just over 600 rpm.
idle vac is about 12" and dizzy vac advance is not in, so idle intial is about 8 to 12 degs
