Should be near starter, on firewall. JimM May 31st, 07, 05:55 AM Goes to starter terminal nearest the block. 409biscayne May 31st, 07, 09:00 AM Yeah , i do have a 14g wire on the terminal closest to the block , but where does that wire run to ? Maybe i'm missing a harness . Tks again .................................. Doug. dnult Jun 1st, 07, 09:51 AM Purple wire should connect from the starter solenoid, through the main harness connector on the firewall. Inside the car it will route to your P/N safety switch and then up to the ignition switch. There are a few different configurations as far as safety switches go, all of which I'm not familiar. JimM Jun 1st, 07, 10:37 AM Purple wire is hot only in start. Original setups have a yellow wire from the outer solenoid terminal up to the coil +. I've always believed that 67's don't power the ignition circuit in "start" and will not fire up without the yellow wire. I do know this not to be true in 68 & 69, the main ignition circuit is definitley powered in both start and run in those years. 409biscayne Jun 2nd, 07, 03:16 PM Had a couple of minutes to work on 67 today , between kid stuff . Pulled the ign switch out of the dash , it appears that the purple wire is hot all the time , not just in " start" , also previous owner had cut and looped it to bypass neutral start . I still think i'm missing some wiring . Maybe i should just use a Painless panel , with start button , etc. Thanks .................................... Doug dnult Jun 2nd, 07, 03:20 PM Sounds like you've got a bad switch. Might want to pull it out and do some continuity checks accross it to see if it's working correctly. If the PO cut the purple wire, who knows what else they've done. 409biscayne Jun 5th, 07, 10:44 AM Purchased a Moroso push button starter switch , wired it in last nite , the 67 started right up . Should have done that earlier , lol . I may use it that way as it's just a bracket car anyway . Thanks ..................................... Doug |
