I bought a 68 camaro. It came with a 327 block (casting number 3914678 it included crank, nothing else) and 327 heads (casting number 3917293 which are 1968 75cc 307/327 heads), both are in rusty condition and not numbers matching.

My question is this; are these components worth rebuilding? Or should I buy and engine complete?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Keep The Block And Crank, have Them Reworked And Used As Your Base. Scrap The Heads....buy A Good Aftermarket Set As Per Your Engine Builders Recomendation. Also Let Your Machine Shop Advise You As To The Internal Componets To Use On Your Rebuild Based On What Your Plans Are As Far As The Use Of The Car....i.e.,daily Driver, hot Street Machine,etc...smallblockmike
