No lead, but there might be some body seam sealer. Use a scraper or stripper to removed the sealer, and you will see the indentations as to where they are. The spot welds will be about 1/8" to 1/4" in diameter and about every 1.5 to 2". Hope this helps.

thanks cruise master, have already removed sealer down the drip rails and can see the seam where the roof sits.have sand blasted in some areas but still dont see the spots. maybe body filler i must have missed with the blaster. upon finding the spots do i need to brace the roof support before drilling the welds? thanks again ''j''

No need to brace for the roof removal, if your car is on its wheels. The chassis and body together on its wheels won't change the geometry of the roof itself or its supporting structure. They are already providing the stiffness the body requires. But, if you feel more comfortable adding bracing, by all means do it. You can never be more sure to have everything lining up as you took it off. I will be replacing my roof soon, withing the next month, and should have pictures available in August sometime. I look forward to jumping in that project next.

I got the Classic Industries catalog in the mail yesterday. They now have a repro roof skin and supports shown. I think that now just about every metal piece is available repro.

The easiest way to remove those welds because the drip rail is in the way, is use a cutoff wheel. Slowly move the wheel over the weld and grind it down.
Grind just enough, you WILL be able to see the weld break apart and the roof skin somewhat come loose from the underlaying metal
