When I was repainting the interior trim, I somehow got primer overspray on the sail panels (Black) of my 67. Anybody have any ideas how to get if off. My first thought is to go over it with some black shoe polish but I dont want to make it any worse. Would mineral spirits take the color off?
Thanks

I think lacquer thinner may do the job depending on the primer and how much is on there. I do not think it will melt the vinyl, but try just a little spot. You could also use black interior dye and just recoat the whole sail panel after some carefull masking with good tape and masking paper. Don't use newspaper 'cause it can bleed through. It is tough to remove the sail panels with out destroying them, especially if they are 40 yr. old origionals. So plan on doing this on the car unless you want new ones.
