OK 67 Camaro owners, 2 or 3 sets of seat belts for the rear seat? Would like to see what people say esp those members in NY State. I will post more on this later after I get a few replies.

I will post more on this later after I get a few replies. jackr Jun 3rd, 07, 01:21 PM All of my 67's (LA cars) only had two sets. Mark C Jun 3rd, 07, 01:33 PM 2 belts, theres even a letter from GM to the dealers telling them to remove any third set of belts that they (the dealers) may have added to the cars at the owners request after delivery. Cars were only designed (and certified by DOT) to be 4 person vehicles in 67. HawaiianCamaro Jun 3rd, 07, 03:46 PM Thats why I was asking Mark. Camaro was a 4 seat car never intended for 5 GMJoe Jun 3rd, 07, 03:49 PM 4 sets in my 67 nor built camaro Unreal Jun 3rd, 07, 07:07 PM Interesting that they refer to RS396 and RS 350!! So RS is a performance option after all. :) Everett#2390 Jun 4th, 07, 05:15 AM Interesting that they refer to RS396 and RS 350!! So RS is a performance option after all. :)I don't think so. RS is a Trim Option only. I believe they are referring to those 396-equipped cars with RS option. SS is the Performance Option with a 350 std, 396 optional to the SS option. I could be mistaken. cgrady Jun 4th, 07, 09:48 AM only 2 in my 67. DjD Jun 4th, 07, 10:24 AM Interesting that they refer to RS396 and RS 350!! I agree with Everett - I'm reading into it they knew certain combos triggered getting the stickers which led the dealers to installing the extra belts. Funny how they thought there might have been dealers charging for the 3rd belts... TSTONE Jun 4th, 07, 01:18 PM mine only has 2, but here is a "survivor" car on ebay - it shows 3 across the rear http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1968-Camaro-Convertible-327-Matching-POP-Standard_W0QQitemZ260125443511QQihZ016QQcategoryZ6 161QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem thewebb1 Jun 5th, 07, 07:35 PM Two on all three of mine:). Both 68's and 69's are certified for 5 persons, and have belts for 5. 67's only are certified for 4. Unreal Jun 6th, 07, 09:30 PM I don't think so. RS is a Trim Option only. Sorry, Everett, I thought the smiley face at the end of my sentence was intended to let you know I was joking. Of course, RS is a styling option, and SS is a performance option. How many times have we read/written that on this forum in the past 7-8 years? The Bulletin DID say RS396, not SS396, which prompted my smart remark. Sorry you didn't get it. Next time, I'll use the laughing face, or postscript that I am making a joke. Everett#2390 Jun 7th, 07, 04:31 AM Sorry, Everett, I thought the smiley face at the end of my sentence was intended to let you know I was joking. Quite contriere - the joke is on me! I didn't even think of the smiley at the end. Let me get you another drink. :beers: |
