I plan on sand blasting the rally wheels on my 1969 z/28 RS. I have read that argent silver-green is the colour to use on the outside and grey on the inside of the wheel. I want my wheels to be exactly like they came from the factory, what's right??? What type or kind of paint do you recommend. thx Mike

I have always heard that you should paint the backside first....flat black to semi-gloss...
Then flip it over and hit the front with the Argent silver. It is ok to get some overspray through the slots onto the black...that is correct...

Thanks guys for the info. That PPG number for the silver is very helpfull. What about the black for the inside, is there a number for it? Has anybody else heard anything different about how the rims were painted? Mike

I'm not sure on the black. I still have some DP 90 black, and thats what I used on the back side of mine. The PPG # for black paint is 9700 (or 9300, same thing) you could use this but will have to use a semi gloss clear, or use flattening agent if using single stage. Your paint supplier can help you figure out the mix with the flattening agent. If you can get ahold of some DP 90 w/DP 401 thats a nice "eggshell finish".
