290hp Gm crate engine. New accel distributor,new fuel pump and filter,New 1405 manual choke Edelbrock carb. The timing is set to 36* total with about 17.5 initial timing. No vaccum leaks. Heres my problem.
Right off of idle I have a hesitation. If i stop the car in the road let off the brakes and floor it, It falls on its face and then takes off pulling strong. Help! I had a 1406 on the car before and it did the same thing!! Whats going on here???

Those ede's come jetted really lean. Get a tuning kit for it, and go up one step on the primary mains and the metering rods. If some of the bog is still there, go to stiffer stepup springs.

Hmmm. Same thing was happenin with my exact set up you have except I put the pertronix in. Mine would fall flat as well, The linkage set up I had was what was causing the problem.
