Hi guys:
1968 ss big block 427
I read in a drag race suspension book that by removing the front sway bar you can increase the front end travel during launch at the track and thereby improve weight transfer. Well I removed the front sway bar and and body roll has increased in a turn to the point that the left front tire rubs.

I have koni adjustable shocks installed (not the externally adjustable type). Does anyone have an opinion on whether adjusting these shocks will compensate for the lack of the sway bar?

Also, What is the procedure to adjust this type of shock?

Thanks,

Scott

I drove home from the track like that one (1) time and will never do it again.

I don't think the shock adjustment would help.

Thanks for the reply Doug. You're right, the shock adjustment didn't help. So when I get back from overseas I get to put the sway bar back in. It was a pain to get out and I think it will be a bigger one to put back in.

I read some other posts about the sway bar issue and drag racing. Several guys unbolt the end links at the track and reconnect them for the drive home. I might give that a try.

Thats what I do now but just the end-links are removed, not the whole bar.

That will be my plan too.
