After a year of frustration with my Custom Autosound USA-6 I yanked it out yesterday. Now I need to figure out what to replace it with. I'm leaning toward installing an original AM for cosmetics and a hidden modern unit...such as the Secretaudio. I did come across a website that lists some Kenwood & Pioneer head units they say are 2-shaft and will fit. The models are:
Kenwood KNW-501
Kenwood KNW-601
Kenwood KNW-800
Pioneer PIO-100
Pioneer PIO-200
Pioneer PIO-400
Does anybody know anything about these?

What probs did you have with USA 6. Mine is only about 3 months old and the display keeps acting up....only the top half of the numbers are lighting up.

The main problem was one channel would cut out. Other than that it was just the cheap feel of all the controls. Also, you really couldn't read the display behind the fake dial.

Put a modern DIN unit in the glove box with an infrared repeater. You'll never look back.

We just put a secret audio hidden unit in my friends 67. He had no sound system at all so, we added 2 kick panels w/pioneer speakers, 2 rear deck 6x9's, a secret audio w/cd changer set up and a rockford fosgate amp w/2 10" in a box.
Took us all day to do, considering the kick panel removal process was around 3 hrs. We mounted the hidden unit in the dash on top of the ashtray mount (and added extra fasteners to the support and dash) This worked out well since there is no radio in tha car and have a radio delete center piece. We then mounted the lil control unit under the dash. Which is cool because it looks like a little guage/fuel metering unit.
I am not a big fan of the booming bass, but must say considering everything cost under 1k, the system sounds good! I was surprised the secret audio was worth anything because its so light and cheap feeling.
