Hi gang. I am a team chevelle member and now have joined team camaro. I am looking at a 67 camaro, but need help. The seller says that the title(I haven't seen it yet) shows the car as an RS, but the vehicle is badged out as an SS. It does not have the hideaway headlights like an RS. It has a 350 engine with an auto trans. with a shifter from the floor, but no console. It also has a 10 bolt rear. Due to bad weather, I couldn't see or do much, but how do I know if it is an RS and why badge it as an SS instead of an RS after repaint? Just looking for some guide points and he is asking 20K for the car. Thanks for any light you can shed.

Don't lend any credence to the title, most only say Camaro, it's what the DMV clerk types... Get the cowl tag info and post it, in '67 it contains all the options unlike other years...

Good advice with one note. The '67 cowl tag shows most of the larger option packages. Not every option is recorded or you'd need a much larger cowl tag. I believe the highest number of options codes that has been spotted is 15. Things like the brakes, wheels, radio etc. aren't indicated by the cowl tag. You would find codes on the POP for those though.

Take a few pictures as well while you are there and post them up. Cowl tag, that shifter, head lights, etc. Those will certianly help decode this bad boy.

One more thig guys, would things like idiot lights instead of gauges, no console, 10 bolt rear, - are they any signs of what it was. I wondering if it was a 6 banger auto at birth, not that I care beacuse I would like to big block and 4 spd. it, but I don't want a song and dance from the seller, if he even knows the history!!!

1st VIN is 6CYL.... you say idiot lights, I remember those from the 67-72 P/U's. I am confused at what you are talkin about...
VIN is in the drivers side door FWRD sill shiny CHROME lookin piece of metal...

any car that doesn't have gauges has idiot lights. They are the temp, oil etc warning lamps...
