I have my 68 convertible in a shop in Southern California getting some work done, and I'd like to have it shipped back to me (Northern California - about 400 miles) in a few weeks. I've receive about 7 quotes from car shipping companies, ranging from $350 -- $1100. The one I like the best is with a door-to-door service with a bonded, licensed company for about $450.

What are some of the factors I should be asking about? What things to look out for? Any help/thoughts/experiences would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I have a recomendation based on experience with the company. Look up carsonatruck.com and they are licensed and insured and did a first rate job for me from Illinoise to Florida for $650.

I used DSA Carriers to ship my 68 from alabama to NJ and also my sons truck from Flordia to NJ. Both were right around $750.00 each. They will come right up on a google search.

If at all possible, go get her yourself.
Ask the neighbor kid with the new Dodge truck if he wants to go on a road trip.
Don't leave your baby in the hands of some un-caring transport gorilla.
U-haul trailers are cheap.

..and take your camera.
