Hello, i have just purchased a 1967 camaro with a vin number which reads 123377N200007.

THE TAG READS,

03D G
ST 67-12437 NOR100069 BODY
TR 709-Z GG PAINT
W3K
BODY BY FISHER

Tags have never been removed, vin is stamped under cowl panel. Car needs total restoration and original engine is long gone.
Wanted to know what this car is worth pre and after restoration. I am in two minds if i should pour money into a full restoration on this car especially if its worth less money than i put into it.

Thanks

As a general response I would say it is rare to fully restore cars like we are discussing here and wind up ahead as far as the green goes. Breaking even would be as optomistic as I would like to take it. Unless you did the car right and ten years from now we have a price wave increase (value wise ). Definately no fast way to get in the black IMO. But you'll have a Great Car!

The main point im trying to aim at is, would it be better for me to restore a nameplate car, such as an SS-RS-Z/28, than to restore a possible number 7 camaro produced which is a base model 6 cylinder car.

Your car is the 100007 Camaro produced. The vins started at 100000:thumbsup:

Thats what i thought it should start with, but vin tag has N200007. Could this be a mistake from the factory or something else.

I believe that the car is not #7 produced........Its build date is 4th week of March '67 and '67 VIN's started at N/L-100000. Obviously it would be more valuable restored to match the Tag but comparing its worth restored to a Hi-PO car is IMO not worth the expense.

Actually his car is the 200007 car produced. A late march build date. But according to my sheet that sequence number is a bit off for the build date. Suppose it could just be an error with the production numbers i have. According to what i have a 200007 sequence number should be mid April.
Edit: You guys are quick..2 other posts came in after Kenneths while i was typing.

...I believe as Ken mentioned above, ...the NOR cars started out with 100000. Your car would then be the 100007th built... (re: #200007 .... = 100000 + 100007)
