Just wanted to share a couple pictures of my new seats for future reference. These are Recaro Style seats with scavenged Classic Industry standard 1968 seat upholstery. Recaro and vinyl do mix.

Also note the Morris 3-point seatbelts. They are NOT mounted to the standard mounting point on the roof. I thought the original mounting point caused the belts to block the side rear windows too much.

they look good! do you sit a lot higher then the standard seats?
where did you mount your belts? do you have pics of your seatbelt mounting?

love that hood...

G-

They look great! I hope to do the same (69 style center panel, vinyl cover) for the 96 T/A seats I have for the vert. I have seen some others done with the same theme, but yours are the first I have seen that will be exactly what I have to explain to an upholstery shop.

Did you send the covers out, or have them made locally?

Are they located in the factory roof position for 67 (more forward than 68-69)?
Where the threaded holes there or did you have to drill and install nuts?

The Recaros are a nice touch. The '70 AAR Cuda-type hood is even nicer. Is it fiberglass? It's got the "WOW! Factor" and then some. Who supplies them?

I might sit a little higher, but it's pretty subtle. . . Seatbelt mounting is a flat metal spot right behind the back of the front window which is significantly forward of the normal 68 mounting spot. Yes, you need to drill your own holes and install nuts.

The covers were made locally here in Bellevue, WA. . .

The hood is a fiberglass hood supplied by Year One. I guess it fits on 69s as well. While I'm not all that keen on the 69 Firebird spoiler, I love the hood. It's a very nice piece.

I've noticed driving it over the past week that it's not as comfortable in vinyl as the display model in leather was. Hopefully it'll become more comfortable as the material loosens up a little.

Ok! Tell me about the center console. I have never seen that setup before. Looks Sweet!

It's from Classic Industries and just slides over the original console. I have a couple of velcro strips which hold it firmly in place. Best money I've spent on the car.

The hood is a 1996 SS Z28 hood done by or for YearOne initially for their white ragtop, I think they called it Innovator...

I got mine from NPD and love it as well. I didn't use velcro but I did get one of those RV non-skid place mats and place it on the factory console before putting the add on in place.
