I went to take my Camaro out for a spin and the rosewood wheel had a crack in it. It was fine the last time I drove it. What the heck could have happened to it sitting in the garage?

Bigfish45 Oct 30th, 07, 10:25 PM I remember in 2001 a guy at Classic Industries told me that they had a lot of people complaining about the reproduction wheels cracking. The problem was eventually fixed at the factory, so they say. I have a friend that bought one from them in 2002. His car sits out in the sun a lot and it hasn't cracked yet. You know. 67SS&99SS Nov 12th, 07, 09:20 PM Grant, a company that makes custom steering wheels is now reproducing this wheel out of real wood. I do not know if the re-pops are plastic but it may be worth looking into these if you are considering purchasing one. I found out about them because I was looking at steering wheels on the 'Cuda website, and they also reproduce a wheel that is almost identical to the old rim blow wheels. I know that you can get these wheels at Advance Auto Parts and Jegs. http://www.grantproducts.com/images/PRODUCT/large/136.jpg http://www.grantproducts.com/images/PRODUCT/large/128.jpg rim blow for mopar fans. http://www.grantproducts.com/images/PRODUCT/large/19.jpg no69x-44 Nov 12th, 07, 09:29 PM I e mailed Ausley's and Roger Ausley e mailed me back that he will replace it. Now that's standing behind your products! I feel so much better now. I have delt with Ausley's in the past for Chevelle stuff and they have been good to deal with. I screwed up once by getting 2 of the same things and they had no problems taking one back and crediting my account. ccmblack Nov 12th, 07, 09:37 PM anybody got a web site for them? |
