I have been offered a 1967 Convertible for $11K.

The car includes the original ME code 327 (needs rebuilt)
Interior is nice
Floors/doors/quarters are very solid and clean.
It has a console, tilt wheel, power steering, power disc brakes and deluxe seat belts.
Has a cowl hood
It is C4 color code (white with blue top) and 717-Z interior (blue basic).
It comes with 2 extra doors and 3 extra hoods.

The bads:

The PG trans slips, the convertible top and trunk need replaced
It needs a repaint and a good cleaning.
The front end shimmys at 25 mph and probably needs some work.
The brakes barely work.
There is a fist-sized dent on the rear quarter panel corner.

The car has sat for 4 years. It would be a fine driver with the trans and brakes fixed and some basic detailing. I have no pics of it but it looks fine.

Is it worth $11K in you all's estimation?

If this car runs and drives and is pretty much complete WITH extra parts it's probably mid to high teens.

Buy, flip it and make some money.

To compare there was a nice straight rust free 67 ragtop body all stripped with the original 327 and pretty much all of the parts but disassembled. I think it went for 15k. This car is all together, running, driving, original, decent shape. A car all together would be much more appealing to most than a disassembled project.

yeah...my guess....I AM NO EXPERT THO.
its worth what is willing to be givin/takin for it. 13K is my guess. I bought a car in half that shape non-conv for 14K...

Okay, if you all insist. I went ahead and drug it home. Here are pics of it at home and next to the king of my garage...

Solid car with PS, PDB, tilt, cruise, power top, etc. I just learned that they almost completed a RS conversion--everything is done but the grill/lights. All the trim and rear lights are in and done.

There is no doubt you absolutely stole that car. Congrats!! It would have taken me all of half a second to make that deal and be towing it home.

I guess this makes up for the rock solid 67 RS for $9,500 I walked away from in April at Carlisle.

We took the car out for a drive last night and it was great. It handles way better than I expect from a 1st gen--the steering is tight and it rides nice.

The previous owner was a 70-year old man who passed away several years back. The car has not been on the road since 2001 and his widow and son sold it. It has some funny 1980's style things like an alarm with a big bullhorn, Pioneer cassette deck and speakers, etc. The floors, etc are unusually solid with the original paint and primer on them.

I like this car--my wife has officially adopted it as hers and we will title it in her name today. She's looking forward to driving it and was actually asking about a 2-car lift for our garage so we have both of them together.

Thanks for the advice everyone--I don't take spending $11K lightly but figured this one was too good of a deal to pass on...I'll never afford a convertible 1st gen otherwise--your advice helped me see the light and spend the cash.

It is a Norwood car with a C4 color code and 717Z interior.

Question--I just realized the car has the "Impala" steering wheel. It looks nice and I have never really seen one before.

What kind of option is this? Did dealers install this or was it a Camaro factory option?

Could have been owner requested, thin rim for elderly hands.

Scored some brownie points! Good man!!

Where did you buy this car??? Are you going through with the RS conversion that was started?

I bought it from a classified ad here in Virginia. I found the ad on Monday and bought it yesterday afternoon. I talked them down in price and made the deal over the phone after looking at it for about an hour.

The car has RS back-up lights, tail lights and the chrome rocker trim. It only needs the front grill/headlights for the conversion to be complete so I will finish the conversion and have nice little RS convertible for my wife to enjoy...

As you can see, the color scheme and build date are similiar to the 67 Pace cars. I honestly didn't notice any of that until people asked for the build date--but is an 04A car with similiar colors. Wouldn't it be cool if I traced it back to be a dealer version Pace car or something? I don't have that kind of luck but it sure would be neat.

I plan to spend some time talking to the family that sold it and see what paperwork they might have--they had it for at least 25 years but possibly much longer.

I trust you all on TC for advise and Camaro direction and was glad that so many people chimed in and we are very happy with the car.

I'm the guy who usually finds the deals and then let them slip away (69 Yenko for $4,500, 68 SS 375hp for $3,300, etc)--it is nice to finally find a good deal and seal the deal.

The original motor is with the car but is not installed (it has a 1970 350ci/300hp block w/double hump heads in it). It appears to have been rebuilt but not installed.

The argument now is who gets to park their Camaro in the garage...

My wife is already asking when she can take it to shows and cruises. I told her to give me to next week and I will tackle it.

I've been looking for another C4 for years. I knew they were out there, but the combination of Ermine White and a blue convertible top has been hard to find. Nice to see that my Camaro has a older brother.
