Hey All,

First time poster (Hello!). My father's pride and joy was a Camaro v6 1968. I'm looking to restore one for him and I to work on. I'm totally new to valuation of Camaros today but I know they've shot up in $ in recent years. I'd say ultimately he might even be happy with a rebuilt v6 and we're not looking for anything far beyond stock. In otherwords, a straight body and a somewhat dependable drivetrain would be great to start. Numbers matching or other collectibility qualities aren't all too important to us. With that said, can anyone provide some helpful hints on how much something like this would sell for?

or even something like this?

I know rust is a big issue that drives value and restore costs but a ballpark or a range would be most helpful!

Thanks!

I would think your looking round 8-10k for those examples. I have seen nice daily driver versions w/6 cyl's sell in my area for around 10k, its the ones with v-8's that usually run the price up 3-6k more for the same care more or less just they have v-8's.

plan on $9k for decent looking body/interior in the low performance arena.

I'd say a V6 1st gen would be one-of-one. :)

The sixes were all inline.

8-10k was more than i expected but definitely in the ballpark. thanks everyone.

a v6 gen 1 would be worth millions! - do'h! hopefully that was my one bonehead mistake of the year.

WOW................ maybe I should have kept it!
I made a V6 / 4 speed 68 vert back in the early 80's.

Pulled a 252 V6 (factory 4bbl) out of a new wrecked caddy and put my 68 vert. headers off the shelf at the local speed shop I think made for a buick or olds. That was a great running car I drove it all over the east coast for a couple years, got great gas mileage.
I sold it to buy a 66 Jag. worst decision I ever made (car related of course).

I sold it to a guy off route 1 in Virginia on a snowy night, met him in a parking lot and he drove it home. Sound familiar to anyone?

Don't laugh but there is a Guy locally that has a V6 69 Camaro that runs low 12s. It has a Buick 252 Turbo V6 that He installed from a wrecked 87 T-type race car He bought for 4K. Is He the one of one LOL
