Have a couple of questions about the gauge package on a 69:

Was it an option that was available to be ordered as a stand-alone option on any package?
What gauges were in the 4 gauge cluster? Was it standardized or was it contingent on what gauges were in the dash?
What is the piece that houses the gauges inside the console called?
What do you think would be a reasonable price for the "set" of originals including the gauges, wiring harness, and the piece that houses the gauges? (orig)I had a complete set I was going to put in one of my cars, but it was stolen out of the garage by a "friend". I found someone who has a complete set for sale.

The 'gauge package**' (for '67-'69) was available 'stand-alone' (car did NOT need to be an SS, RS, Z, etc.)
2.) Gauge housing base...?
3.) Prices vary, ...anywhere from $200 on up to $400/$600 (you can get a repro set for about $300, ...less the harness)
4.)** The "gauge package" was the combined package of the Dash gauges AND console gauges. (one did not come without the other). There was no variation on what four gauges came in the console, ...it was fixed (oil, temp, fuel, amp).
You may already know this, ...but,...keep in mind that IF your car did not have gauges originally, ...the factory underdash harness will not work with the factory console harness, ...there are 'wire kits' to adapt to the non-gauge underdash.

...hope that helps.
...I guess you need to keep your 'friend' out of the garage...

Kalif,

To add more to what Kevin posted, the gauge package was available on any V8 car. Not available on the L6.

By the way, I don't want to sound stupid, but what the heck is Spark Plug Wax??? Is it like blinker fluid, piston return springs, Cross drilled brake lines and relitive bearing grease?

:D

Thanks for the responses....

Ed,

SPW is a proprietary product (made and packaged in the USA) that reduces and, in some cases, completely eliminates heat buildup from spark plug removal. Tests have conclusively proven that the reduced friction from our wax when performing spark plug removal can greatly enhance the removal experience. This is the satin sheen wax used in late production 67 and early production 68 models. All of my supply is NOS and has been certified by Jerry (Seinfeld) to be authentic, genuine, real and otherwise correct.

I am taking early buy orders for next season. Our curent supply suffered degeneration due to improper storage (it melted inthe warehouse) but, fortunately, we have located a second source for backup. For all you naysayers just tyle in "Spark Plug Wax" in Wikipedia and you will see what I mean.

Thanks for that Kalif, but I only have google. Anyway, I'll just take your word for it though because Jerry Seinfeld is such an authoritarian.

SPW's performance is enhanced enormously when used in conjunction with a Tornado FuelSaver and the Nuclear-Magnetic Clamp-On Fuel Molecule Straightener. :D

Fred: - Here's the link (just type in Spark Plug Wax and you will see) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page

John: You must be out of touch... the Tornado Fuelsaver was taken off the market due to instability in the chemical structure, and the MCFMS has been hotly debated to not be what it is supposed to be because if it was what they said it was it wouldn't do what people thought it was supposed to do. that being said, I will say this:
