: Leave sub frame on or off?

I'm about to have the roof replaced on my 67.
I also want to drop the sub frame for suspension rebuild and painting. Should I leave the sub frame on while the roof is being replaced, or is it okay to drop it?

The reason I'm asking is because I have a guy doing all my body work, I'm handling all the mechanical end and I want to get started on the suspension rebuild ASAP while he is doing the roof. What do you guys think?

No takers? I guess what I'm really concerned with is tweeking the car. The roof
is a major structure of the uni-body and if both the sub frame and roof are off at the same time, I'm worried that the car won't be straight when it's back together. That's the reason for the question. Help me out guys!

I would be worried about that too, but I don't know if it would happen. It might.

was considering doing it how you were thinking also but fearing that after it was done it would not line up i opt to do all the subframe first then ill do all the sheetmetla work to include replaceing the roof. I even went so far as to measure and drill out some 4x4's to bolt under the car to make sure it was tight. but got to thinking about it and decided it was a no go

Thanks guys! That's what I wanted to hear. I will wait until he is done with the roof before I start on the suspension rebuild. I don't want to take the chance that things will not be right.

I guess it was kind of a no brainer, but it's always good to hear from others. I've learned alot from people on this board!! It's great to have a place like this to come to!!
