Please help, I'm at a crossroads, and not sure which way to go. I have a pretty worked 468 BBC with a ST-10 ( 2.64 1st ) and looking for a decent 12 bolt rear gear ratio. It will have very little if any highway use, but I'd like to be able to go on the Parkway if I need to. IIRC the gears in there now are 5.13's, and they are a little intolerable on the street. I must also say, I have a new 4 series carrier, and was thinking about using 3.90 gears, but was speaking to a friend of mine and he recommended 3.73's ( and that they made them to fit a 4 series carrier ) What do you guys think??

I'd go with the 3.73. There are a few that are made for the 4 series.

Is there one brand better than the others? About how much should they cost??

US Gear is about the best. The special thin gears will be about $210. You will need an installation kit too, which will be $95.

I like my motive gear 3.73s. Very quiet, and it seems like the perfect gear for the street imho. I don't know if they make them for the 4 series carrier though.
