I recently purchased a 68 from a guy that had no motor or tranny. He has reciepts for $ 35,000 new paint, and body work is all documented with pictures and reciepts from body shop. All new interior, and i mean everything down to new headlight switch.I have put in new GM 385 hp crate motor,700R transmission new drive line and new 10 bolt posi rear end. Also new Coy rims and tires. Now $ 46,000 in reciepts.I dont believe that the car is a Z or SS or RS.So whats it really worth.I know not $ 46,000.Thanks Gene

dunno how wierd it is, mine is a 6cyl car that "supposedly has the stock 12b rear and saginaw 4 trans in it, with multileaf". I dunno if true, nor do I car... i didnt get mine to restore, but rather hot rod.

Monoleaf is just that. One long leaf spring from axle vorward. Multi-leaf is 4 or 5 springs(depending) that run fwd from the axle.
What you have described sounds to me like a mono-leaf setup.
The VIN-not trim tag- will tell you 6cyl or v-8. 12337*** 6cyl, 12437*** for v8
You could not get a 6cyl SS car. which is the performance package getting the 12 bolt and low gears. You could get a 6cyl RS car with a 3/4 spd tho..IMS's me.
