We should be getting the car here in the next couple of weeks, so we're really getting into it now.

RotorsOnline.com has donated financially and now wants to donate a set of rotors to the project. Are the LS1 rotors off of a Trans Am or Camaro the same as the ones for the disc brake conversion kits for a 68 Camaro? This is for all four corners.

We also have a set of 4 calipers sitting here off of a 98 Trans Am, will they work on the conversion?

And lastly, I can get my hands on a booster, partitioning valve, and master cylinder off of a 99 Z28 that has been wrecked. Can I use this for the conversion? I saw someone had done it, but I wanted to be sure before I went over an grabbed it.

This all depends on what your after. If you want stock type brakes and sizes from a 69 Camaro, Chevelle or nova........no what you have will not work. You will also need disc brake spindles for you stock style brakes so it will depend on what the car currently has.

If you are upgrading you can used the 98 TA brakes but you will have to go with 17 inch wheels and make sure they are not 17 inch wheels using 15 inch or 16 inch centers (example would be 17 inch steel rally wheel by wheel vintiques, it uses a 15 inch center). You will be able to use the drum brake spindles and hubs if you go with the LS1 brakes, but you will have to machine the drum hub a little, this will cost you about no more than $50.00 at a local machine shop. You will need brackets to mount the calipers to the drum spindle or disc spindle (spacer required for disc spindle). The brackets run about $150.00 for the front. You will need front brake hoses from the 98 up 4th gen. For the rear you will have to get brackets to mount calipers. I would suggest BRP Hot Rods for this they are not expensive at about $60.00 for both, and you will need e-brake cables.

I think your prop valve should work and I have seen masters from late model cars used but I don't know much about this.

DSE sells a complete booster, master cylinder with plastic reservoir and small dia booster for something like $295.00? which is not a bad price for brand new stuff and DSE has engineered it to work for 1st gens!!!

No, don't want stock type brakes. This is gonna be a mild pro-touring restomod.

Thanks for the help! I'm gonna look more into the booster and master cylinder, but if that doesn't work I'll see if a DSE kit would be in the works for the project.
