70 looks and no answer. Didn't think it was that difficult a question, or is it just in the wrong forum. I'd like to know so I can replace the one that is incorrect.

On a 67 am radio, can someone give me the distance between the two stems. It looks like the face plate I have is original and that measures 5 3/4", the other opening is 4 1/8" x 1 3/4" and looks like the picture on Ricks First. I bought what I thot was a correct radio for this and those stems are wider apart(not movable). Also the face plate part that goes around the dial bar doesn't fit properly, to tight. Would like some dimensions or a correct radio part number if I can. The mounting screws do line up tho.

I have a 68 AM radio handy, I'm pretty sure they are the same. What measurements do you want? The distance between the "posts" (the tuning knob shafts) is 6 1/4 c to c, is that what you mean by "stems"?

Thanks 68rs, that's the measurement I was looking for. The radio I bought has them 6 1/2" apart so will consider that more or less correct. I wonder where the faceplate came from. It had an aftermarket radio in it when I bought the car and am putting it all back to original.

Cool, glad I could help. I think they offer an aftermarket plate that looks the same but has a different spacing, I believe because the factory spacing was oddball. I recall trying to find a knob radio for my first Camaro (back when you could find one) and needing one with adjustable knobs because of it.
Is your face plate metal? I'm pretty sure all stock ones were, but the aftermarket are plastic.
