It all depends on the manufacturer and each door. I have seen several doors that came in and absolutely would not fit. They were sent back and on the third try, this one fit. You do take a chance everytime you buy a piece of sheetmetal. I have seen NOS doors that didn't fit right either. I don't know how true it is but another member said that as time went on GM's tooling began to wear and the stampings were out of shape.

I have to agree with 69X11SS,some of the repro doors need alot of work.I have the original GM doors that i am trying to line up on the car.I am finding out they dont fit well either, this is not what i expected at all.

I've had good and bad luck from the same so called manufacturers. Ultimately, most are made at the same stamping plant in Taiwan. It's just a crap shoot I guess.

Hmm, are we referring to door skins or those fairly new doorshells, skin included?

Doorshells.

I worked in a fisher guide parts plant for a couple years and a part would be run on the line and supposedly every 100 or so parts were placed on a jig for fit. If the part didn't fit the jig within specific tolerance then the line would shut down and the stamping dies would be adjusted. Unfortunately GM expected "X" amount of parts to be produced every hour (standard). If the line was running ahead of schedule (standard) the workers got a longer break, or could slow down the pace toward the end of the shift. So instead of the part being checked every hundred or so it might have been every 3 or 400 parts. This meant that occasionally a few parts got by that were not up to specifications.

69 Doors from Goodmark seem to be a great fit, I have tried several and was happy each time.
