Here's the LH side on my 69. The 2 holes in front (left) of the shock are for mounting a rubber bumper on a metal bracket. The orig exhaust bracket is to the right of the shock with the orig screws still in it.

Here is the RH side showing the axle bumper in place

Dosn't anyone have a factory duel exhaust car that they could take a peek at these l.h. hanger inserts for me or Am I the only one who has such a thing? As said before I had two inserts in the three holes is there supposed to be three I would really like to figure this out for this weekend as I will be putting the complete trunk floor in & if needed I could hold the inserts from turning while mashing the nut. Thanks.

If you do a search for "dual Exhaust frame" and then read through the posts about 68s, you should find something useful including photos.

It look like there should be four rivnuts, one for each hole in the hanger bracket. I do not have my 68 AIM here to confirm.
