Guys,

My timing cover tab does not have teeth like most or any numbers on it. It just has lines above and below zero. Anyone know what the intervals of the lines are does each line represent 2 degrees? I think it is an edelbrock timing cover.

My Edelbrock timing tab was bolt on. Does your tab bolt on? If it does, then get another tab for the same size balancer and bolt it on.

No it is welded to the cover.

On a GM timing cover tab, the lines are 2* apart. The '69 302/350 timing tab didn't have any "teeth", or any numbers - just the "0", "A", and "R", and most were dated.

Thanks John that helps. I still have a problem. I do not know the history of the details of the engine and want to make sure it is timed properly. Is there a way to tell if the timing tab on the cover is for 69 and newer. It is my understanding that the 0 (closer to the advanced side) mark on older covers are in a different location. without knowing this how can I time the car properly?
Hope I explained myself properly..

Here's a photo of an original '69 302/350 timing cover and tab; this cover only works correctly with the '69-up balancer that has the timing index line on the outer ring located 10* counter-clockwise from the keyway notch ('68 and earlier balancers had the timing index line directly in line with the keyway notch).
