I have a 69 camaro that I am basically taking a 350 and making it appear similar to the 302. I have all the basics in hand the right valve covers/intake but have not bought a carb yet. I know the 4053 is the one to have to be correct but as you can see I don't have the real deal and so I guess my question is this, is there a carb that would be similar in reference to vaccum fittings/choke/throttle linkage etc that I could use in lieu of the 4053.

Might cost you about the same but the 4346 is almost identical to the 4053. Most any 4150 model with front and rear metering blocks will be close. The divorced choke is the part that may get you depending on how much detail you are shooting for...

Scott;

If this is a cost consideration issue, you could just pick up a new service replacement 4053 Holley carb. I see them on eBay for around $595.00, which is roughly 1/2 of what restored original dated carbs go for.

If you want to keep everything as correct-appearing as possible while keeping costs down, this would be your best route.
