I know we get these questions from time to time but there always seems to be someone with something helpful to say on this site. I'm fairly new to this area, San Jose, CA, and I've noticed there are a couple of other site members from the same area. I'm looking for a good bodyman to get my '68 basically ready for new paint. I have a few minor looking dings but the rear wheel arch corners have been botched with bondo and I'm going to need someone who will weld and plate these areas and do a good job. I was just wondering if anyone has any knowledge of someone around here who's good.

I'm glad you asked the question. I am ready for almost the exact same work on my '67 and I live in San Jose. Hopefully someone has a good shop recommendation. (Maybe we could get a package deal!) --Jeff

Good idea! If only it were that simple...
What color's your '67? I might've seen you about.
I haven't had any experience with body shops in the few yrs I have been here. Check out the club link in my signature and come to our meeting Friday. We go eat and socialize after the meeting and someone should be able to provide a recomendation...

I used to live in San Jose and found that it's a role of the dice to find a good body man. I now live just nort of Napa and know a guy in a town called Lakeport that also used to live in San Jose. This guy does amazing work at all maks and mods. Hot rods, gas tanks, very nice. If anyone is interested let me know. I don't think he is listed. He is a one man shop and has many cars to work on. Lakeport is about 3 hrs. from Hwy. 280/101. Good luck

I just got my '67 back from the body shop. I took it to Steve's Auto Body in Fremont on the recommendation of a friend. He did a great job repairing a dented tail panel and matched the paint perfectly. He has done a lot of restoration work on classics.

David Pozzi WILL KNOW the answer to this one. If my memory serves me correctly Salinas is only 60 miles from San Jose and he could probably help on this one.
Where you at David????
