I have the old block bellehousing, clutch, fork, bearing etc. The only thing I have changed is the transmission and motor mounts to the corrrect version Energy suspension pieces. I also have Energy poly body mounts as well. I did do some floorpan work and may have knocked out a divot for the fork but I don't specifically remember doing that. Is the floor supposed to have a dimple there and if so how much? I have a 1968 327 with M-21 4 speed. This all fit fine before and everything else seems to line up fine.

After reading a bunch of posts I am starting to think my floor was user dented by the previous owner and I pounded it back out because it looked rough. I have a new GM fork on order to replace my heavy duty fork which may not be the correct style.

If the heavy duty clutch fork is from Lakewood it doesn't fit. I don't care what Lakewood says, it doesn't fit. I had the same problem and replaced it with the GM OEM part and it worked out perfect. Mine hits a little bit if I push the pedal all the way to the floor. That is because I have the Lakewood bell housing. Also there is no need to push the pedal through the firewall if everything is adjusted correctly.

I wish I knew who made the old fork. I bought from the Trans rebuilder when I did the first clutch job in about 1989. I worked fine since then until now. I needed to replace it anyway since the spring steel clips are broken.

The 'heavy duty' for is a 2nd gen item and doesn't work. The correct part # for the GM one can be found with a search or maybe someone will chime in. GM doesn't make a heavy duty fork for our 1st gens. No need for the floor massaging!

Page 74 in NPD (Nation Parts Depot) catalog, Part number C-0795-1 is a GM OEM item. The price is $53.00. There are many sources for the part including the local GM dealer.

I've got one on order. Since I will likely be replacing this stock clutch with a centerforce a bit down the road I will hopefully not need the HD version anyway.

I am running a Centerforce dual friction clutch now, everything is nice and smooth. I previously had a Zoom Clutch, after 500 miles I swapped it out for the Centerforce. At the same time I replaced the rear gear to a 3.55 and installed an Eaton posi.

Yes, I've been through this also, thinking that the heavy duty Lakewood fork would work!.....Even after bashing in the floorboard, near the gas pedal, there still wasn't enough clearance!......I ended up purchasing an OEM fork from NPD.....That HD Lakewood fork is for an "A" body car, like a Chevelle.....I might add, I have a Lakewood bellhousing too.
