Good day, I dont know if you guys can help. I will be putting a driveshaft and transmission from a 94 Chev caprice into a 68 Camaro which had a Manual transmission. Both U-joints are different. If my Camaro originally had an auto transmission, both Ujoints would be the same. Is there a Ujoint that would have the 2 different sizes so I could match the driveshaft to the rear axle. If you guys cannot help, can you point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

Yes there are U-Joints with 2 different size cups for swap applications.check summit or jegs websites and look at u-joints.i think they have diagrams with sizes and dimensions.I know Lakewood has them.

I don't know the exact answer to your question but if you measure the bearing sizes and widths and the length to the centerline, Summit can get one made for you (Strange) if it's not listed. I had to have one special made for my Camaro and they did this quickly and relatively cheaply...good luck,

Sam

Thanks for the speedy responses. After looking at the summit site, I came to this conclusion. Correct me if I'm wrong.
94 Chev Caprice 1344 universal joint
68 Camaro with Manual transmission 1310 Universal joint

I need a 1310/1344 universal joint.
I think the transmission side yoke is the same for both cars. 27 splines.

Get a good set of calipers, and measure them both if on hand. Then go to every O'reileys, Advance, and Autozone within a 30 minute radius, and explain to them the problem. When the mop boy, looks at you foolishly, ask to look in the parts book he has open, and staring at blindly. They will list all the measurements you need. Write down 15 part numbers, and retrieve all those boxes from the back room. Open each one, compare, put mismatched units back in boxes. Drive to another store, go through it again. Once more, at your third choice.

At least, that is the route I was forced to take. Autozone actually had it, box looked like it was from the 70's, been opened, measured, and fell off the back of the shelves into puddles of water many times judging by the packaging. It was simply a "conversion u-joint" and they told me they always carry one of each, just for occasions like mine.

Or, if you are not on a tight schedule, call Summit, order, and sit back waiting for the UPS truck. :D

Thanks abptrock. I've seen that look in thier faces many times. You should have seen thier faces when I was looking for a 91 Camaro steering box and wanted to measure the fitting ports for my 68 recently, then wanted a 94 Caprice pressure hose for that steering box.
