I have seen splash shields and splash shield kits available. I didn't have them on the car when I got it. Do I put them on?? Why?
Uh Oh...I just read the "Request..." sticky. This maybe should be in "Body shop"?

Yes. Two reasons. They keep dirt and water from splashing into the engine compartment and it looks good. Thats my opinion! Good luck.

Unless you have some really nice tubular a arms that you want to show off, they do keep things alot cleaner and they cover that big hole. You can see them in these pic's.

Got it...I am thinking these go in after the engine/trans/and sheetmetal are all in place?

Mine are gone too and I'm wondering how they are attached. Looks like staples.

They are attached to Vettes with staples. I am assuming these are the same.

There actually 100% easier to install if you have the sheet metal off. They will stay with the inner fender so you don't need the car assembled. Yes they are attached with heavy duty staples. I went ahead and used rivits to hold mine on. A whole lot easier then staples but to be correct, staples are the way to go and they usually come with the set.

I haven't quite figured out what to use for the staples, now you want me to try rivets? Well, we'll see how many fingers I have left without band-aids when we're done.:D
Thanks for the info. Can you provide instructions as well?

I used to make my own "staples" out of thin stainless steel wire.(stainless mig wires works) Its not too tough to bend. I drilled two tiny holes through the inner fender, and threaded the homemade staples through the holes. Bent them over once punched through. They looked good, and will never rust...

I did the same. Drilled the existing holes with 1/16" bit and bent wire with a pair of pliers. The tip on my pliers was the same width as the staple I needed so I just bent it down on each side of the pliers, pushed them in and bent the ends over with a pair of needle nose pliers. It kinda curled the end and looks like a staple. Also easier with the fender off.
