What are the pros & cons of single stage paint? My body shop is recommending it to save money. Is 2 stage worth the stretch for a weekend driver?

Single stage would be fine if shop can spray it without getting dirt in it. If it is a metalic color you wouldn't be able to buff to out very hard without cutting through paint layers which would leave metalic rings. Base coat /clear coat requires a little more fine sanding prior to painting. I would spend the extra $$ now as you will forget about it if you enjoy your car but if your not happy with the finished product it will stay with you every time you look at it. ED
