I'm trying to determine how to have a new 12 Bolt Moser assembly setup. Will
the TrueTrac diff work with c-clip axles?
I ask because I read that the eliminator kits leak and I don't want to use the Ford end caps because they wont allow me to transfer my disc brakes setup from my old 8.5 without bracket problems.

Fred,
I have a Moser 12 bolt in my car now. It has c-clips from Moser and I have the Detroit True-Trac differential with 4:10/4:11 gears. I also went with the larger splined axles. Nice set up and I like it. It's been in there for about 10 months and I like it. I also have the 11" drums but I should have went with the disc brake set up as it wasn't that much more. Live and learn!!
Bottom Line: Yes you can use c-clips with the Detroit True Trac from Moser. Good Luck!!

You can use your disc brakes with the Ford axle bearings. They have a special bearing that is thinner than the original Ford bearing that allows the caliper bracket to mount flush with the housing end.

I need to get out in the garage and see what I really have. I've been lazy about pulling one of the rotors to see what the flange looks like. I'll try to do it this week.
The rear end in the car is an 8.5 of unknown origin. It has multiple leaf springs, an Auburn Gear 30 spline posi diff 3.73 ( I found the end tab off of the box it came in that gave the part number), aftermarket axles with alum. end caps with L.H. and R.H markings and 1/2 inch studs. It has disc brakes of unknown origin. I posted the stamped numbers about a month ago and got no response other than maybe a WS6 Thunderchicken T/A.
Freddie, See why I'm thinking Moser?

We have been selling the crap out of Moser 33 spline, True Tracs. We often specify them with Big Ford ends, and Chevy flange, and Chevy lug bolt pattern. Also, we specify a access hole in the axles flange for access to the brake backing plates and original center bore size.
