Hi all,
Will the rear end from a 68 or 69 Camaro fit in a 67 without modification? My 67 has multi leaf springs and non staggered shocks. I've read that they changed the housings in 68. True?
Thanks!

Depending if it came from a car equipped w/ multi-leaf springs or one w/ mono's.
ALL '67's had mono's if not mistaken.
Some '68 and '69's came w/ them too.
It's just the difference in the housings spring mount depth's is all. Mono's short and multi's deeper. You can use spacers to take care of a multi rearend mounting onto mono springs if you want!
That said, whatever you do, use at least one "U"-bolt per side and preferrably two!
Not the little-bitty "T"-bolts.

Thanks. My 67 must have had multi's put on at some point then, as that's what it has now. It's a 250 inline 6 too, and I know those came with mono springs.

Hi, i have a 67 camaro it had mono springs on it and i changed it over to multi springs i put a 12 bolt from a 69 camaro in it . 67-69 rears are all the same width the only differances are the spring perches . Yours should go right in.

So the shock mounts are the same? I read that 68-69's have staggered shocks. Are just the top (on the body) shock mounts different?

Just the bottom shock mount plates!
'67's have mirroe image one's, like your hands w' a sandwich through bolt bottom unstaggered mount.
Whereas the '68/'69's have a single plate that spins to stagger the shocks, front to rear, on each side along w/ a shock mount stud.

extermepcs,
I don't have a Doctorate degree from Harvard in rear-ends; but FWIW, my 1969 has multi-leafs. The 12 bolt rear end in it when I bought the car was a multi-leaf rear out of a 1968 Camaro (Dated May 1968). A 10 bolt or 12 bolt rear end; if it's multi-leafs--should work.
As far as housing ends, I would not know as the ends on mine were hacked off to install c-clip eliminators. It was a real amateur bush league hack job too.
Listen to pdq!! He always knows what he's talking about!!
