Anyone have an idea of how to get these moulding off the top of the doors and around the convertible top (from rear quarter window to rear quarter window).
I'm told they "pop off" but mine are perfect originals and I'm not willing to take any chances. The old body and glass guys here are stumped.
Thanks

The chrome on the door is held on with 4 small screws. They are in the "fuzzy" weatherstrip, and might be hard to find. You'll probably have to drop the glass to get to the two center screws. The quarter window chrome also uses screws. I can't remember exactly how the pinchweld molding is held on. I think it uses spring clips with maybe a couple of screws from underneath? Maybe someone else can help you with that.

Do the screws go through vertically or horizontally? I got one door out and I see what you mean about somewhere in the fuzzy...sort of where I am on this one.

The screws go horizontally through the weatherstrip, the chrome trim, and into the door sheetmetal. They are fairly small, and are generally rusty if they have never been removed before.

Thanks guys. I'll crawl around this week to check it out. The quarter is off the DS now and I can't see or feel anything underneath so that part must be clips. The door looks like a real treat.
