I was at the body shop tonight looking at final fitting for paint. The painter pointed out that the lighter crease close to the rocker (not the main crease down the side of the body) had a sharp crease on the driver side and more of a rounded crease on the passenger side. Further the driver crease did not line up very well with the door crease. I am pretty sure these are GM fenders. Has anyone noticed this before? Everything else lines up great.

A GM fender will have stamped in nuts where the hood hinges mount, where a repro will have a thru hole with a nut welded on the back side of the fender.

Right. That is why I am very sure these are GM fenders. That and the fact they had layers of different color paint as if they were from the bone yard.
How about the crease mis-alignment??

Just got finished with one of those fender issues, but i was using new aftermarket fenders. I had to pie cut the inside of fender reinforcement right where "that mid to lower" crease is then it will fold pretty easily to match the door. Then all you have to do is weld reinforcement back together.

Yes, I saw your handywork. I just went to look at a friends 69 fenders. His was just the opposite as mine. His passenger side had a sharper crease than the driver side.

I checked two friends 69's out. Both of their's vary from side to side. Did the the factory fit the fenders to the doors by creasing the fenders more or less? I am seeing a lot of variation. Does this look right?

I found a few 69's and tried to figure it out, I'm not sure, but you can see some body lines and what not on this thread.

Changing the actual shape of the fender crease isnt an easy task, as Mark mentioned above. You can change the "bow" of the fender by either adding or removing shims at the bottom of the fender. Don't think that playing with the shims at the top of the fender will help that area, but you never know.
Might not get it exact, but might get you close enough.
