Ok I Got a 1979 Camaro.. and the other day I was driving down a highway and hit a pot hole and my rear end sank.. when I got home the leaf springs on both side went through the floor pan and I love the car so much.. everyone I've talked to says to junk it cause it can't be fixed is that true? I hope it's not and if it can be fixed what can I do to fix it thanks

Anything can be fixed! You just have to throw enough money at the problem!!

Any welding shop that does automotive repairs can probably fix this.

Some advice: 79's aren't exactly the most sought after Camaros in the world and if the car is rusty to the point where the spring eye popped through the floor, I'm guessing there's not much left of the rest of this car!

theres not a single rust spot on the body of the car and I know it's not the most sought after camaro I'd rather have a 69 or 68 but I don't have a lot of money to get one or even restore some day I will but for now I have to settle for my 1979 camaro and expect for the underside of the rear end of the car I'm very surpised that theres not any rust on the car... I chearish the car cause it was a gift from my dad for my 21st birthday and it was the only gift I will ever get from him cause he died two hours after he gave me the car as a gift in a car accident... which is why Id like to get it fixed car it reminds me of all the fun I had fixing up the car with him when he was alive.. but thanks for the advice and at least I know now it can be fixed and I appreciate it

Go ahead and fix the car. Get with a couple of different people and get what sounds like the best approach. It would be a shame not to fix it after all you have with this car.

We do custom body cuts all the time. We may be able to help you save your baby. That is a very common place for F bodies to rust out. Please call us.

Sorry for trashing your dream!! If the car is really in as good shape as you say, go ahead and get it repaired!!! Even though it's not a rare car, it's obvious it has a lot of sentimental value!!

I'm a good one to talk anyway! I have two 68's in my garage one of them was so rusted out when I got it that the only factory parts left on the car are the door frames, roof panel and the basic unibody framework!!!

Good Luck!

If you ever plan on adding more power to the motor, now's a good time to build a full frame off of the front subframe cuz the springs mount to the frame not the floor.
