View Full Version : how do we spot a fake tag from a real one? red2bunkeru Jul 10th, 07, 08:35 PM what exactly do we need to look for. Eric Kammerer Jul 10th, 07, 08:42 PM This has been asked in the past, and the answer is always the same; if that information is posted, it only helps the fake/repro tag makers. So, you won't get a detailed how to here. Search here for "fake tag" and download pics, and search for "good" or "real" and download pics, and then study. Or, whenever there's a question on a tag, post it here and the experts will say good or fake. Buck Jul 10th, 07, 08:44 PM Eric is right, they could tell you, but then they would have to kill you!!! :p This has been asked in the past, and the answer is always the same; if that information is posted, it only helps the fake/repro tag makers. RamAirDave Jul 10th, 07, 08:53 PM Ive suggested in the past that there be a locked sticky at the top of the Tag Team section titled "How to spot a fake tag", and have the post contain the standard TC disclaimer about this issue. Many of us have asked when we joined here, so certainly no offense meant at all. Gary L Jul 10th, 07, 08:55 PM There are many real and fake tags displayed here. Copy them and study them. When the question comes up it also slides away and that makes it so a fake tagger has to ask or search instead of looking at the top of the forum... |
