Hi guys, well i know im suppose to introduce myself in all before i do anything, so here goes. My name is Daniel Malacon,I live in Houston Texas, and im helping a friend on her 1975 camaro, Only problem is, her Air Conditioning is busted. Now im not a noob when it comes to cars, but when it comes to air conditioning, not so good at that.
So i was wondering what is the full list of parts i need
-Underdash A/C Evaporator
-compressor with clutch
-Condenser
-Reciever drier
-hoses
-etc.
And also what are some helpful tips on doing this procedure, and or should i just pick up a haynes guide.
thanks guys much appreciated.
Oh, and By the Way, Big Fan of Camaros, just im more of a jeep guy...sorry:o

SSizzle in the big H huh? Well you did not say what was wrong with the AC other than its busted? Whats busted? Compressor? Evap? Condensor? Not too many expensive items that cant be replaced here on a 1975 factory car. I can tell you that what ever you do, you will more likely end up converting to the R134 gas in this or any other unit. If you have a factory set up , it will be more efficent than under dash or Vintage unit. Try to tell us more about it or take it to a repair shop to get some better understanding of what is needed. I have done AC on both sides so understand what you may be saying or trying to say. One thing for sure, its gonna cost some $$$.

Stick with r12 for colder air.

Well its my friends car, so she really hasnt told me much about it, but the fact that the only problem with the car is that the AC just plain doesnt work. I told her to take it to the shop and ask what could be wrong, thinking that it could just be one thing, so until then, i have no other information. But basically what i wanted to know also, is it difficult to fix the AC? As in, just replacing the compressor, evaporator, or hose, just want to know what im getting myself into.
I dont think i will be converting, and will just keep the factory r12.
