I'm planning to add power door locks and keyless entry from A1 Electric. I am fortunate enough to have one door that needs to be reskinned so I can really see what I'm doing. I don't really see an obvious place to mount the solenoid though.
I've searched and read everything I can find but I'm wondering if anyone has any pictures showing a good location for the solenoid inside the door. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate it.
p.s. When I get something that works, I'll take some pics and post here.

I added power actuators , the block type, with two small mounting holes. I put the screw thru the shell side , down below the door latch. Made the little actuator rod and then routed "S" rod link into a latch hole that was already there. Worked well until my alarm system checked out. Next project.

I did the same as Don, on my 68, but mine was a universal kit and had the rod I just had to bend it to mate up with the factory lock/unlock rod...

Thanks for the advice guys...
This is what I ended up with. The only downside I see is that I haven't made it very easy to adjust the linkage so I hope that I got everything aligned correctly.

The other door will be tougher since I'm not removing the skin but I will use this as a guide then wire and fire everything up in the next few days.

I mounted mine on the side with the door panel (but as close to the latch as possible). I think the actuator puts out more force if you don't have more of an "S" in the rod. The advantage to the way that I did it was that you do not see the screws to hold the actuator once you put the door panel back on. I think the way that you did it would be better as far as leverage is concerned. I did have to go to a heavier pull actuator (I think they said it was 10 lbs. instead of the 8 lbs. actuator I got in my universal kit) so that it would work EVERY SINGLE TIME. I added a nice keyless entry with the power door locks that works great.
