I recently picked up a 67 from a friend. The passenger side door wont open. The interior handle moves the release rod, but not enough to open the door. The outside handle, when I push the button, I can feel there is no resistance behind it. I tried pulling the lock/unlock up on the door but it doesnt seem to move up or down. Short of using
C-4, any suggestions???

sounds like an internal problem. if door will not open you probably have to remove the door panel (if you can) and check the internals. you may have a busted rod or something. you might be able to pop the door open from there so you can replace whats broken easier.

I have a similar problem with my 68. It won't open from the outside due to the tab that the rod pushes is bent. I was told that the spring may be worn out or broke that resets the mechanism after opening. I replaced the spring on the contact tab but that made no difference. If on of the springs inside the latch assembly is broke, then the assembly will need to be replaced. I have sent you an email as well on this issue.

With the window down, stick a thin pry bar or foot long chisel down the window slot and push inwards on the mechanism tab that the outside door button is supposed to be pushing against.
